 What are feed-in-tariffs?

The government introduced feed in tariffs back in March 2010. This allows you to be paid for small scale electrical generation. Domestic properties are allowed to have a system up to 3.68KWp max. While commercial premises are allowed to have systems rated upto 50KWp.

You get paid to generate your own electricity tax free guaranteed. You get to use the electricity you generate for free. Unused electricity is automatically sold (exported) at a higher rate. You also save money by not having to buy what you have generated.

Feed in tariffs are index linked to inflation.
